Chapter 3 Papa Johanne's a phantom image?

As I said before. The older I become, the stronger the desire for
To learn more about my father, John Shepherd, has become. I have searched long
now without finding trace of him in Germany. Embassy in Stockholm
have not been able to help. In World War II was very
of Hitler's Third kingdom in ruins, so also different archives that could have been
shed some light on my father's fate, but also where he came from, who he
was, why he came to Sweden, after he has been said, had swum
over from the coast of Zealand.
When unsuccessfully seeking the truth, it is easy to be in despair
the lack of facts begin to formulate hypotheses, engage in guesswork.
Would you then like to find a positive image of his father, is close to that
assumptions, wishful images. That one finally formulates a life lie to
bring into the actual know's place. Therefore, it is perhaps easier to
Living with a life lie rather than to completely miss a picture. It will then create easy
a phantom image. Maybe I have done it?
It was while with this search for myself and my background
the attractiveness of the James Bond figure sat on my brain, was a
obsession. I wanted to believe that my father was something good, something nice something exciting,
someone to be proud of.
I remember when it started. I was eight years old when I first
saw a James Bond film. The minimum age at cinema Royal in Nybro was actually 15 years, but since I had the company of an older brother was
I still admitted. It showed "Goldfinger", the movie where Bond figure
played by Sean Connery as 007 sub-contractor to crack
Auric Goldfinger and his international gang of gold smugglers. Slow
but surely became Bond my role model, my surrogate father. But I
has not been satisfied with surrogatet, although I do over the years more and more
grown together with him. The urge to not give up the search for my real one
father, Johann German Shepherd, has not diminished but grown. I am constantly looking for
new ideas to follow in pursuit of him.
Some people may think that I'm a little crazy. I do not care.
I continue the hunt for my real father and penetrates while deepening
in person and Bond also has a role as James Bond.
Much of this book will continue to focus on how
I have so far been a Bond, the process proceeded, but it will also
to reveal how I want to move on. I have not come to an end. Journey
continues. Welcome to the onward journey, dear readers!
Sp årlöst
Although I got a fantasy picture of my biological father and the very
let Ian Fleming get a replacement, and myself in many respects, if not
in action, trying to be James Bond II, I have never given up hope
at least to determine father's life story.
The vast majority of Swedes can not understand what that means, when
do not know where you come from, or the relatives are gone without a trace. The
fact that the father was German and lived during World War II, also makes
the search for him in many ways more difficult.
In mid February 2008 I once again an injection to continue
the search for my father. It was when I saw that TV 4 until later on
early spring start up series ìSpårlöstî. The program presenter will take participants
with it, as I see it, their most important life-journey, a journey in search
the biological parents and other close relatives. The journey is often based on few
and thin information, usually fragments of the past. It can be
a faded photo, name, any personal information. At best, confronted the applicant with unknown parts of his life, everything falls into place, a pattern
looming, a map leads one step closer to re-evaluation of, or at least
certainty about what happened. It is a program I would like to join in.
In the meantime, I transform the various bodies in Germany, mainly Red
Cross. They have answered my plea for help, saying that they are working on the case
and they also turned to other agencies in the country, that the search will
take time. Yet there are no clues in the hunt after my father's fate, not even
about his background. But I never give up. I know his number.
There is something to stand on.
My father's life and fate coincides with World War II, the time
between September 1939 and Peace in 1945. It does of course work
to find information on my father's past life, background and deeds, even
more difficult. 1945 was a lot of German society in ruins. Data in different
archives would help to better understand why he came
to Sweden and not least, why he disappeared without trace during a trip to
Germany, which he said would undertake to find her mother.
Every day, I hope to post from Germany.
