The moment when the statuesque Honey Rider emerges from the surf to make her entrance into the first James Bond film, Dr No, must surely be one of the most memorable images associated with the Bond films of the 1960's - and one against which all subsequent Bond girls would be measured.

Honey's father has disappeared in mysterious circumstances at Crab Key, a small island off Jamaica, where Dr NO operates a bauxite mine, so she willingly helps Bond to infiltrate Dr No's base. She proves to be a worthy companion for Bond, surviving the treacherous swamps of Crab Key, the flame-throwing 'Dragon' swamp vehicle and an attempt by Dr No to leave her to drown in his disintegrating and rapidly flooding control room.

She is last seen happily floating away with Bond in a small boat which the pair have elected to release from the tow line of their rescuers!
